Best part about this mix was that I came home from a business trip, got in the car to drive home and it was playing on PhillyNites. Had fun mixing it too!
Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Aired 12/7/13 on PhillyNites Radio www.phillynitesradio.com. This was part 3 of the 3 part Sagittarius Sessions. I had a lot of fun with this one and turned out to be my favorite of the 3 mixes. This one has more of a club feel with the others being more deep house. Used samples liberally from songs not mentioned in the playlist and the A2 909 Kick Clap here and there. To me mixing is like jazz improv. If I remixed this same group of songs next week it may come out different. The research and prep is the longest part of the process. Deciding to add a sample here and there or a new track at the last minute makes it fun to create these tracks. Also I kept 3-4 decks working at the same time to add what I call those midas reTouches. : )
I want to thank my musical director, CMO (Chief Musical Officer), and owner of PhillyNites Sharon Benatti. Thank you Sharon for giving us a playground where we can play! Also want to thank Chris Fx for hooking me up on a couple of tracks. He always has an ear for HOT tracks and his contribution certainly made this set what it is! Lastly I want to thank those supporters of the Gold Room Sessions ™ by stopping by the chat room, listening on Tunein or Radio Loyalty, and retweeting on Twitter. Especially want to thank Rain Aruba, DJ Edizz, Chris Fx, Richard Lewis, Tony Wilson, Henya, and MaryAnne; the "Music Sounds Better with You" THANK YOU!
Promised my PhillyNites DJ family I'd post the playlist… since I do a lot of remixing the order may not be correct. Dedicated this first track to my DJ family DJ E Dizz & Chris Fx

Gold Room Sessions features some of the best artists producers and singers in House, Deep House and Afro House. This edition of the Gold Room Session features:
and a mix from G'Sparks Spilulu Mijimu
This mix was featured on BasementSoul 4-19-13. I hadn't heard this in a while. This was my first mix of 2013. Re-posting for those who didn't catch it on BasementSoul. Thanks much BasementSoul for airing this one. Forgot how much fun mixing this one was! Loved doing this one for the ATL!!!
I had an opportunity recently to hang out with a good friend at the Marque here in Houston as a VIP member. The room is exactly what I imaged the Gold Room would be and is where my mixes would be played while relaxing. Music played there was pretty good but sadly it was not mixed. One song ended, pause, next song began. It started to annoy me (the pauses between songs) So of course I Shazam'd a 5-6 of songs and thought, I can work with this. I added a few more of my favorites and came up with this mix.
Spoiler alert the mix builds from a melodic beat/rhythm slowly to a more up beat tempo towards the end. I loved how this one turned out! (Selections, tempo change, and the music lends itself to some smooth transitions)
